Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving - and somehow Russell Westbrook - trades we want to see. However, the Nets are not tied to honoring any of Durant's preferred destinations and plan to make a deal that allows them the greatest return of assets, sources told Wojnarowski. The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat are among the teams Durant has on his wish list for a potential trade, sources told Wojnarowski. Not only is it incredibly rare for a player of Durant's caliber to be moved in a deal, but what makes him all the more valuable as a trade chip is that he signed a four-year contract extension that kicks in this week - meaning that a team that acquires Durant will know they'll have him through 2026. Nets general manager Sean Marks is working with Durant and Kleiman on finding a trade, Kleiman told ESPN. If you wanted it, you waited, and it forced interactions, which were great because, after spending five or so hours with someone, you understand them on a different level." You didn’t send a DAT to them by post or send a cab down there. It was a way for DJs to compete and keep crowds coming back, especially during a pre-internet era when pirate radio, raves, and record shops were the only places you could hear new music prior to its release. Just as floor-rumbling bass and reggae samples were highly prized in the jungle scene, so too was having tracks that no one else had. You couldn’t get these tunes, no matter how hard you tried." Even though I didn’t like the combat or clumsy Mako rides much back then, I still felt a profound sense of excitement knowing my specific journey was far from over and that it would probably only get better from here. And despite their apocalyptic prophesying, I remember the first time I completed Mass Effect, when the idea that I’d be playing two more games over the next five or so years with my Shepard dawned on me. No matter, the Reapers make their presence known and you’re forced to make some difficult decisions. Do you abuse your newfound power to sidestep and possibly supplant the Council? Or do you work with them despite their distrust of humanity? Navigating Saren’s sabotage alongside the frustrating bureaucracy of the Citadel Council while grappling with privilege of becoming a Spectre-basically an intergalactic super cop-sets up some grounded (for sci-fi) moral and political dilemmas. He wants to form an alliance with the Reapers to prevent them from harvesting the whole of organic life. He comes off as a stern, militaristic jerk, but discovering his true motives turn him from Videogame Bad Guy into a sympathetic, tragic character. Grievances aside, Mass Effect’s greatest achievement is in how it introduces an entire galaxy and history with the most restrained and self-contained story of the bunch, featuring the series' most sympathetic villain by miles, Saren. Otherwise, planetary exploration is limited to bouncing around empty terrain until a space worm eats you, or worse, you get stuck in the nonsensical mountain topography. At best, the Mako is a dopey physics turret on wheels that gets you to and fro. There are some people that choose to die on the Mako’s hill, which is a shame, because while it may align with one of the series’ greatest strengths in exploration, it doesn’t ever approach its full potential. While you’re at it, scream about the Mako. Tell the teachers of the world, scream it from the mountaintops. In the original game, you can aim directly at an enemy and miss because math. The vestiges of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are still visible in the busy combat interface, and it’s obvious that those two ideologies-third-person shooting and actionbar RPG efficiency-failed to find a sweet spot until Mass Effect 2, and weren’t refined until Mass Effect 3. Who did you choose on your first playthrough? Any regrets? One of the hardest decisions in Mass Effect is whether to save Ashley or Kaiden during the operation on Virmire. Just expect to sift through dozens of hours of cripplingly safe sci-fi to find something to love. There’s fun to be had in Mass Effect Andromeda, either in the customizable combat or in the occasional charming conversation with a crewmate. It’s hard to imagine the future of Mass Effect in this new setting with a similar structure.Įven so, no one else but Bioware makes games like this. And chances are, that quest marker is just going to send you on an aimless trip all over the surface fetching items for short stories packing as much meaning as a weekly drunk text from my dad. ![]() ![]() Southeast Idaho's black desert is a more interesting landscape than nearly any planet in the game. The open worlds are empty, lacking any natural curiosities besides quest markers. Some of our bigger complaints, like the creepy eyes and excruciating planet scanning system have been tweaked in post-release patches, but they don’t detract from the larger truth that Mass Effect Andromeda is a game far too big for its own good. We’ve written about the problems we have with Andromeda at length: the squadmates are barely memorable enough to rank, the combat is more nuanced than your relationships, the aliens feel like reskinned humans that are cool with colonization, and despite using the same tools as The Witcher 3 for quest design, the awful writing can’t sustain them. If only excavating a pyramid were as easy as solving a simple glyph-based Sudoku puzzle. After 400 years of continuous space travel in one direction, somehow the new system has fewer alien races, less biodiversity, and even more banal ancient alien tech strewn about each planet. ![]() The promise of a new galaxy, far, far away was too much for Andromeda’s to handle. ![]() ![]() The guild offers plenty of side quests to complete, that range from gathering items to fighting hard-as-nails boss monsters. If rewards are what you’re seeking, there’s a decent amount of side questing to dive into in Neptunia ReVerse. Each maze of an area also has plenty of secrets to uncover, and by pressing Square you can reveal any nearby hidden objects. If you’re careful and can swing at them before they charge at you, you’ll also get the standard advantage going into a fight. There are no random encounters, and enemies roam the fields and caves waiting for you to approach. When you’re not actively battering baddies, exploring the dungeons is very simple. You may need to use a character’s HDD transformation if you want to survive. You’ll need to figure out when it’s worth breaking an enemy’s guard or going in for the kill. Neptunia ReVerse isn’t an easy game either. Then you attack using whatever combination of rush, power or break attacks the situation calls for. You set these up using your CP in the menus. Perhaps the best part of battles are the combo skills, which you use every time you do a basic attack. You’ll want to fit as many foes in the glowing shape as possible. Each character has a different area their attacks hit. Each turn you can move a character around the 3d battlefield, and use attacks or special abilities on enemies in range. Outside of the horrendous “fan service”, combat is actually decent. It aims to appeal to pubescent teens, and to say it grates would be an understatement. It feels like every other line is some stomach-churning reference to boobs. Within five there’s a scene where one girl undresses another to heal her. It takes less than a minute to mention a character’s oversized breasts. Neptunia: ReVerse: A not-so-subtle adventure The story itself is passable, but the characters and fan service very much aren’t. Neptunia ReVerse is a remaster of the first game in the long running series (well technically a remaster of a remake) so no prior knowledge will be required to get stuck in. Our heroine Neptune loses her powers at the start of the game thanks to a new threat to the world, and thus begins a classic amnesia fuelled adventure through the nations of Gameindustri. ![]() It’s completely bizarre, but you’ll soon get used to which scantily clad child is supposed to represent Sony, Nintendo or SEGA. These goddesses and nations aren’t just differently themed worlds though: each of them not so subtly represents a different gaming company. ![]() This endless battle sees the four goddesses fighting endlessly for their nations, hoping to rule over the entire planet. In the world of the Gameindustri, the Console Wars are more than just endless arguments on gaming forums. ![]() Not all exclusives are created equal though, and that’s especially true for Neptunia ReVerse. Sony especially has a great track record of publishing exceptional games that only PlayStation owners can play. That isn’t to say that the exclusives themselves aren’t exciting though. In a world where people draw juvenile tribal lines around their favourite electronic box, games others can’t play are the weapons of choice. To the domestic goose breed, a person who coddles them with snuggles, hand-feedings, carrying, and cooing is subservient. They operate within their flock in a hierarchical system and they generally include the farmer in this social structure. Geese are incredibly intelligent animals, fairly fearless and strong. They are livestock and should be treated accordingly. Geese can be wonderful companions for the farmer but they are not lap birds. They are content to share open spaces like waterways and yards but an intruder to their coop (especially while in breeding season) is a recipe for confrontation. A goose will learn to recognize their barnyard family members such as other poultry, barn cats, dogs, goats, etc., and will not pose a threat. If guests are expected to the farm, ensure the geese are housed in their shelter or secured in their pasture space. Living with geese means respecting their watchdog behavior and not trying to inhibit it. They are simply reacting to an unknown being and protecting their habitat accordingly. It is this innate ability that is often misunderstood - a goose isn’t acting out aggressively when an unknown visitor approaches (animal or human). They are territorial and naturally protective of their environment and flock mates. Geese have acquired a reputation as mean and aggressive. Their housing should also provide safety from large predators such as foxes and coyotes since they do not sleep on a perch. In addition, geese ideally will have a shelter in which to sleep, nest, and seek refuge from extreme weather. Nest boxes aren’t necessary when raising geese, as a female goose simply gathers bedding to form a nest. A goose sleeps in a similar fashion to a duck on the ground, preferably on a bed of straw, grass or other bedding. Unlike chickens and turkeys, domestic goose breeds do not roost. To the goose, a person who coddles them is subservient. When a goose becomes agitated or angry, they often strike at a subservient flock member (even the farmer) to exert their dominance. I personally supplement my geese’s diet with dry rolled oats as they provide vitamins B, E, and phosphorous to the goose. In addition to grazing, geese will nibble at hay as a source of forage and enjoy cracked wheat soaked in a water bucket. It’s not unheard of for a goose to toy with a garden snake or minnow however, they much prefer greenery and will most often choose plant-based meals. They’re content to be turned loose in the garden, sampling weeds and unwanted growth between tall cornstalks and rambling strawberry plants. Instead, they love to graze on open pasture and tear tender grass blades with their serrated beaks. Unlike chickens and ducks, geese do not forage for slugs, ticks, or other insects. ![]() Diet is one facet to consider when looking at the nutritional requirements of geese vs. ![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty much all DAWs have the same features, so I’m not going to list every feature that both Logic and FL Studio have. However, if you want to focus on beat making and loops, then LP Studio is the more suitable DAW. If you plan on making your own money, Logic Pro is the way to go.Logic vs FL Studio? What DAW do you think is going to be better for you? In this review article, I’m going to cover the differences between Logic and Fl Studio to help you pick which one you should buy. If you plan on making money working for someone else, it’s a good idea to learn the tools of the trade and master this software package. At $9.99 a month, Pro Tools has never been more accessible for entry-level professionals and composers starting their careers. However, Pro Tools remains the DAW of choice for larger studios and the film industry. Other software packages offer more features at a more competitive price. Working in Pro Tools is a bit like joining a secret club. Composers and producers alike can confidently invest in a Logic Pro workflow to bring their ideas to life. However, Logic is limited to macOS and Apple has been a little hasty to drop support for older versions of the operating system. Logic Pro offers better value for money, ease of use, great-sounding presets, and an incredibly fun and easy-to-use iOS companion app. Work does not easily translate between DAWs, meaning once you make a choice, you’ll be locked in. Annoyingly, either platform is, well, a platform. Apple and Avid have both aggressively added new features to either software package and you can’t really go wrong with either choice. This was not always the case and in the past, either platform had unique shortcomings. Today, Logic Pro and Pro Tools each feature a complete set of tools for anyone to create music and sound. Flex’s unique features are required for some sound mixers, but most users do not need this tier for their workflows. Primarily designed for film and television professionals to perform advanced post-production workflows such as remote mix sessions, Pro Tools Flex is a requirement to use Avid’s HDX hardware. ![]() This is the best all-around pick for most users.įlex features the highest level of functionality and compatibility. Pro Tools Artist is a compelling option for musicians and students alike who want to learn the ropes. It’s more than enough to get started with the software and compose intricate demos, or podcasts, but professional music producers and mixers will run into limitations in this version quickly.
